Help Make My Film Production Journal Entry - September 20, 2003

THE TIME: 3:49pm est

Finally, the rewrite is complete.

I have to go back and polish the script now, making sure that each of the characters has a unique voice, the scenes all connect in some way, etc. I also have to make sure that there aren't any little details that I overlooked which need to be explained in the story. But finally, I can move forward.

I also spoke with the attorney that the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts  referred me to. Very nice also asked a lot of questions to make sure I  was legit. Nothing wrong with that although I would think putting my picture  and information on this website (including names of my acting agents with  their phone numbers) if I was trying to pull a scam would really be foolish.  But with everything going on in the world, we still need skeptics to make  sure people are doing what they say they're doing.

Anyway, he gave me some very good advice and I can certainly call him back when I need guidance. Anything beyond a simple contract (I write it, he  looks it over), I'll have to work out actual fees. I figured that's how  it would work. That's cool. Until I really get into distribution deals,  etc., an entertainment attorney isn't really necessary since I understand  how to write basic contracts. There are also plenty of books with standard  contracts that I can tailor for my own purposes.

THE FIRST STUNT: Spoke with the costume shop and I'll be going over in the evenings for  a few days to help make the costume for the first stunt. That includes  the mini-parasail. I'll put up some pictures as it's being made this coming  week.

I started making phone calls to find an old parasail that someone might  want to donate but had no luck. So instead, I'm going to make it. It just  needs to be 4 feet in length anyway (I'm definitely not trying to fly with  it). The costume shop is going to help me construct the harness and everything  that I need to make it work.

I'm so excited, finally the fun is beginning...
